Summer Soirée: A Season of Texture and Sun-Drenched Style

In celebration of our Summer Soirée collection, Phillip Jeffries invites you to embrace the season with natural beauty and chic design. We had the pleasure of catching up with Cynthia Collins, founder and principal of Collins Interiors—a Dallas-based design firm known for its soulful, layered spaces that blend classic elegance with modern ease. Cynthia shared how she’s weaving our new wallcovering into her projects—and her perspective is as vibrant and nuanced as the collection itself.

Here's a look into the mood boards that Collins Interiors is dreaming up this season.  For Cynthia's clients, this pink and green palm mood board perfectly evokes a “sun-drenched cabana” style with large-scale palms that still feel casual enough for bare feet.

That tactile connection is exactly what we hoped to evoke with Summer Soirée. It’s a collection that celebrates materiality and mood, and these mood boards capture that spirit beautifully.

When asked to choose a favorite from our summer grasscloth collection, Cynthia instantly said: “It’s like asking me to pick our favorite colors—too hard!!” But she definitely had her eye on one Phillip Jeffries paper weave collection with jute woven into it. “We absolutely love the texture of High Tide, an incredible woven addition to our scheming. It brings warmth and organic structure into the backdrop of our interiors. You don't just see it, you feel it!”

High Tide is a dimensional design with a flowing pattern, authentic jute is woven into a textured paper weave wallcovering that is laminated to a colorful backing. “The solid texture is a canvas for all of our layering. It could easily be coastal—polished but still relaxed and casual. We imagine the doors open in this room!” said Cynthia.

Below, Cynthia used Saint-Tropez Stripe to create a colorful coastal mood board. From the cabana to your walls, this multi-tonal stripe print wallcovering brings the French Riviera home. Soft, painterly stripes add depth and dimension to any space.

With over two decades of experience, Collins Interiors has built a reputation for creating homes that feel deeply personal and effortlessly refined. Their work is rooted in storytelling—each space a reflection of the people who live there, layered with history, texture, and intention. Cynthia’s approach is both intuitive and collaborative, making her a trusted partner for clients and brands alike.

When we asked what keeps her coming back to PJ, Cynthia summed it up in two words: “MATERIAL SOUL.” She continued, “PJ is a true go-to for us. The consistency across the breadth of your offerings is like no other in this category. PJ is a brand we trust, and it’s frequent along our tables of selections over and over again.”

A dimensional twist on a stripe, this textural natural raffia wallcovering features a double-row fringe and is available with or without a metallic wash. For Cynthia, the collection channels “energy and playfulness”—a sophisticated nod to vintage tiki bars and hula huts. “Imagine the lacquered bar cart stocked and ready-to-go!” she said.

Her clients are equally drawn to the versatility of PJ’s offerings. “Our clients respond to both prints and grasscloths. If we need something print-driven to offset a solid, or more of a tonal texture to elevate a colorful scenic patterned fabric, it’s an easy selection. Our library drawers are filled with all the above!”

From bold palms to breezy raffia, the Summer Soirée collection is about creating spaces that feel alive, layered, and full of personality. And with collaborators like Cynthia and her team at Collins Interiors—who bring heart, heritage, and a discerning eye to every project—we know these designs are in the best of hands.
