At Phillip Jeffries, we believe walls (and ceilings!) are a canvas for creativity which is why we’re thrilled to feature Corey Damen Jenkins’ Design Reimagined series. After the success of his book and Season 1 of his YouTube Series YouTube series, Design Reimagined, Corey Damen Jenkins is back with Chapter Two!
Watch the transformation here:
This season continues his mission to empower homeowners with confidence and joy to create spaces that are both beautiful and functional. In this episode, Corey visits Jason and Heather’s traditional Hamptons beach home, featured in Chapter Two of his book. The design challenge? Merging two distinct styles: Heather’s love for airy, coastal whites and Jason’s desire for the sleek sophistication of a swanky Manhattan hotel. The home was purchased fully furnished, so Corey had to blend existing pieces with bold new ideas. His solution? Start from the top.
“I’m obsessed with ceilings!" Corey said. "It’s a two-story ceiling space in your foyer. The ceiling should be dressed in something really spectacular. Why not make this ceiling like a big star?”
To achieve this, Corey chose Phillip Jeffries’ Harmony Hyacinth wallcovering for the ceiling. This hand-laid mosaic wallcovering is crafted from water hyacinth. Its natural texture and crisp color palette create a stunning focal point that makes the entire entryway pop. “I think it’ll make the entire space pop,” said the homeowner.
This luxe geometric wallcovering is artistically handcrafted by skilled artisans who create distinctive dimensional designs. The finest water hyacinth is meticulously layered for a luxurious, sustainable style. Here, the foyer ceiling showcases the highs and lows of the natural water hyacinth and plays off the colors of the crystal chandelier.
Creating A Warm Welcome
The entryway also features an abaca rug to ground the space with coastal warmth, an Art Deco chandelier for drama, and a curated console table accessorized with varying heights for visual interest. Corey’s quick tip? “Choose a simple color scheme and repeat those colors throughout. Pattern and texture add up to a space that feels warm and visually dynamic.”
