At Phillip Jeffries, giving back is part of how we work. Co-CEO Philip Bershad joined our team to help restore a home.

Through our PJ Cares program, we support the communities where we live and work. Every team member is encouraged to volunteer, with time set aside each year to do so. One recent effort brought our team to Jersey City, New Jersey, for a Habitat for Humanity Build Day.

A Day On Site
On a recent Saturday in June, our team worked alongside Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newark at a home undergoing rehabilitation. The house had experienced significant fire damage and is now being restored as part of Habitat’s home preservation efforts. Guided by Construction Project Manager Darian Harris and Site Supervisor Dan Gallinger, the team focused on hands-on work that included sanding, spackling, painting, drywall installation, and preparation for tile work. It was a full day on site!

Supporting Our Local Communities
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newark works to provide safe, affordable housing for the local community. By restoring an existing home, our hard work helps preserve housing and support long-term stability for a family. Progress was visible throughout the day as walls were prepared and painted, surfaces were repaired and the home moved closer to being lived in again.

PJ Cares In Action
PJ Cares is built on the idea that giving back should be consistent and meaningful. Across the company, teams support causes ranging from housing and food security to youth programs and community services. Events like this build day are one way we put that into practice. We are grateful to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newark for the opportunity to be part of this effort. We are also proud of our team members who showed up, worked hard, and supported a project that matters. Through PJ Cares, we will continue to look for ways to give back. One day at a time. One project at a time.
