Transitional Rooms That Inspire
The subtle ombré on the walls of the bedroom shown here from Million Dollar Listing star Fredrik Eklund and husband Derek Kaplan's Beverly Hills home is meant to evoke a tranquil sunset. After years of living in a modern New York City penthouse full of whites and grays, they were looking for warmer tones. Designer Paris Forino renovated their Beverly Hills home (during the pandemic, no less!) and relied on warm, rosy shades of pink for its posh, calming vibe. A Journey Through Coastal Style
Great design isn't defined by a trend or aesthetic. It is defined by thoughtful choices that create spaces people want to live in and return to. This beach-inspired bedroom, by designer Corey Damen Jenkins, features palm motifs and natural textures inspired by its location in the Hamptons. Corey wrapped the room in The Grove, a luxurious artisan wood veneer wallcovering. Cream and caramel tones harmonize with the gold that shows through the laser-cut wood. Beyond a project's location, Corey gathers inspiration from the fashion world. "I look at the fashion runway, couture fashion, The MET Gala," he said. "I follow Jean Paul Gaultier, Balmain, Elie Saab, and Valentino. Obviously, he’s a huge influence on my work." Learn more
