Tour A Turn of the Century Townhouse
Now open to the public,  a New York City townhouse was transformed into an elegant retreat with stunning interiors in celebration of great design and in support of the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club. Each room has an exciting narrative. Phillip Jeffries was proud to partner with 6 designers who helped transform the house using a range of wallcovering from natural abaca to cloud murals and embossed crocodile patterns. Welcome to the 49th Annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York

Inside The Show House

Once inside, guests can step into the study of an Egyptian goddess or a South American salon or walk a hallway dreamscape that doesn’t feel real, all in one Manhattan townhouse. You won't want to miss the show-stopper hunter green bathroom at the end!

The townhouse, located at 125 East 65th Street on Manhattan’s affluent Upper East Side, was created in the turn of the century to serve the gentry of New York. The house was designed by the architect made famous by his work designing houses for the Roosevelt and Astor families, Charles Platt, in 1904. The results are stunning!

“Study of Art and Beauty”
DesigneR Jeremiah Brent

Whether it's a home office for work or a quiet space to relax, this study is a warm, inviting space designed by interior designer Jeremiah Brent. The decor is inspired by an Egyptian goddess named Hathor who is a goddess of love, beauty, music, and motherhood.

Discover layers of cozy textures, curved silhouettes, and chic artful details. Phillip Jeffries chocolate and creamy white Suede Lounge wallcovering adorn the walls and ceilings of the room. “A symphony of tonal textures” that focuses the viewer on the rituals of adornment, Jeremiah's devotion to subtle and soft beauty is enhanced with wool drapery, incandescent lighting, and warm accents.

Designed by Jim Aman and John Meeks, the furniture, fabrics, and art come together to create “sleek lines and clean silhouettes.”  Phillip Jeffries metallic leaf wallcovering, Picasso, gives the room a natural texture and a golden shimmer that effortlessly balances refinement and warmth.

The bar nook below is wrapped in a natural banana bark and paper wallcovering called, Sanctuary. This artistically handcrafted wallcovering is made by skilled artisans who create distinctive dimensional designs.

“THE ANDES CLUB”
PHILLIP THOMAS INC.

Designer Phillip Thomas imagined a 1920s Paris meets Chilean cosmopolitanism in this after-dinner salon space. The design was inspired his parents’ own weekly salons that they named “The Paris Club” held at home first in Chile and then in New York (where they renamed it “The Andes Club”) with guests that ranged from musicians and poets to clergymen and politicians and his childhood in Chile. The rich textures and colors of the room come together to create “a space where people will gather and never want to leave.”

SHAWN HENDERSON

A bedroom designed to honor the sophistication and poise of Yves Saint Laurent muse Betty Catroux. The sleek steel elements, textured walls, and playful feminine colors balance warmth, strength, and stoicism. Interior designer Shawn Henderson choose this rose-hued Phillip Jeffries wallcovering that upholsters the ceiling and “cocoons the space providing a sense of intimacy conducive to serene contemplation.”

“SMOKE & MIRRORS”
VANESSA DELEON ASSOCIATES

Welcome to a glamorous bathroom sanctuary inspired by Art Deco grandeur. Interior designer Vanessa Deleon focused on creating an aristocratic and moody primary bathroom with every creature comfort. “The walls, draped in deep emerald wallpaper from Phillip Jefferies, are a captivating backdrop,” said Deleon. A rich background for the golden accents, a clawfoot bathtub, and an Allegri crystal chandelier hanging overhead to really shine.

“DREAM MACHINE”
HUMA SULAIMAN DESIGN

A hallway that feels more like walking into a dream, than down a corridor. Interior designer Huma Sulaiman created a palette of blues and cloud designs that evoke a far-off place in the back of the viewer’s mind. The Phillip Jeffries mural wallcovering Sky depicts the midnight sky and clouds that help reimagine the space into one of pure “dream state feeling” where “thoughts drift away in wonder.”
