How To Choose Wallcovering With The 2021 Pantone Color Of The Year

In the 22 years since Pantone began choosing a Color of the Year, this is just the second time they've chosen two hues. It's not hard to understand why: Ultimate Gray and Illuminating both represent fortitude and faith in the future.

“This is a color combination that gives us resilience and hope. We need to feel encouraged and uplifted. This is essential to the human spirit,” says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. We couldn’t agree more! Fun fact: 2021 also marks the first time a gray has been selected, and only the second time a yellow has made the cut.

Both colors work well together in interior spaces. For a modern look in the bedroom, keep decor pieces streamlined with pops of yellow upholstery, as shown above, and sleek metallic finishes on fixtures. Our Flight wallcovering creates a calming backdrop.

Create a WOW moment in a living room with a bold statement wall. The overscale design of our Splash wallcovering below creates a graphic moment reminiscent of modern art for your walls and comes in a variety of colorways from neutral to vibrant. Coordinating wallcoverings in the soft grey complement the statement wall and help tell a cohesive design story throughout a home.
