In celebration of the Michigan Design Center Spring Market, Phillip Jeffries hosted a creative and immersive workshop at the spacious Tennant & Associates showroom. A family-owned business itself, Tennant & Associates are celebrating 30 years in business this year! As a fellow family-owned business, PJ sends a big congratulations to you on this milestone. We know how much this means and are happy to partner with you.

The Michigan Design Center has been serving designers, architects, builders, and consumers throughout the region since 1977. The large, single-story building spans more than 200,000 square feet and has nearly 40 showrooms representing more than 1,000 manufacturers including the finest names in tile, fabric, home furnishings, lighting, kitchens, floor coverings, and accessories.

On a Wednesday in May, we celebrated our new summer collection, Japonaise, and learned the art of printmaking. Below, Lisa Kuenning, our Central Sales Manager, greeted guests.

First, guests were able to explore the process of creating a motif and how we transfer these drawings from a printer’s block onto paper and textiles. Experts were on hand to share variations in techniques for achieving crisp results.

A wide selection of motifs gave each guests the ability to personalize their artwork.
Print block designs included our new Gilded Garden wallcovering collection as well as favorites such as Adorn, Beat, Vinyl Flatiron, and Offset along with prints like Modern Moon, Nomadica, and Tulu Cloth.

Similar to how PJ Artisans create original artwork for wallcoverings, our guests were able to experience block printing on PJ grounds including canvas linen, horsehair, silk, and Japanese paper weaves. The results are stunning!

We had so much fun! Thank you Tennant + Associates and the Michigan Design Center for hosting everyone.
