Phillip Jeffries Celebrates International Women's Day

Written by Phillip Jeffries | Mar 8, 2023 4:34:56 PM

In celebration of International Women's Day (March 8), Phillip Jeffries celebrates these three unique women in design and the rooms that inspire us!

Today, and every day, we join with the global design community in support of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Every designer has a unique creative perspective realized through their work. We salute these three designers and how they infuse rooms with their cultural influence and experiences.

NOZ NOZOWA
A gorgeous example of design bringing people together is this vibrant space designed by San Francisco-based designer Noz Nozowato. She pulled her influences from across the globe to create this fun hangout spot for people to connect and converse at home. A feature element is the wallcovering, Phillip Jeffries Cape Town collection that ties it all together.

Inspired by the effortless coziness of 1970’s home design and the literal coziness of Japanese heated kotatsu tables (the origins of which date back to 15th-century Japan), Noz created two lounge + cuddle zones in the space, which encourage all generations in a family to put their phones down and connect over conversation, board games, and puzzles. As quoted in House Beautiful, Noz said, "At the fireplace, we designed semicircular arched bookshelves, and created a custom fireplace using eight different tiles from Fireclay Tile. We furnished the space with Phillip Jeffries wallpaper and a collection of vintage and American-made African-diaspora-inspired furniture and vessels from Yaya Situation, Jomo Furniture, and Yonder SF."

LUCINDA LOYA
As a business owner, passionate philanthropist, wife, and mother of two daughters, Houston-based designer Lucinda Loya strives to set a stylish example by creating a smart and beautiful world. She drew her inspiration for this project in Colorado from the natural landscape. She decided on a cozy and casual vibe through the use of texture and warm tones. Phillip Jeffries Collage collection offered movement similar to the landscape while Vinyl Zebrawood was the perfect complement to the geometric wood floors in a House Beautiful Whole Home project.
