This year our team found meaningful ways to contribute to local communities and the environment.
As we enter this season of gratitude, Phillip Jeffries takes a moment to reflect on how we make this world a more beautiful place.
Giving back is woven into everything we do at Phillip Jeffries. We call this our "Great and Worthy Purpose" or "GWP" for short. From creating inclusive environments to simply giving thanks, we are thrilled to share with you all the ways we donated our time, our resources, and our support this year.
By The Numbers
From blood drives to virtual walks and bake sales to hikes, our team accounted for more than 1,160 volunteers! We clocked in more than 160 hours of time actively engaged in community events like the Special Olympics, Autism Awareness Month, Diabetes, and several cancer research foundations. We not only contribute financially, but we also like to roll up our sleeves and make a difference. We removed more than 2,500 lbs of trash from the environment.
And we're not even done! This winter we are supporting a local Girl Scout troop by collecting coats and cold weather gear. And, we just recently kicked off our annual Toys for Tots holiday gift campaign! Employees are invited to donate new, unwrapped gifts for local families this holiday season.
Here's a few more ways PJ gave back in 2024
Barktober Bake Sale Supporting Pets Who Were Impacted By Hurricanes
When we saw the devastation caused by the recent hurricanes in Florida, we thought of our animal friends who can't point to where it hurts or describe where they lived or what their owner looks like. To support these animals in need, and all of those who are serving them, the funds from this year's bake sale was donated to the Humane Society of the United States, specifically to their Emergency Animal Relief Fund.
Hiking
We hiked more the 283 miles this year as a team! From a kid-friendly fairy hike to a challenging red hike at Point Mountain Reserve, our team members love to be in nature. Hiking together with friends and family is one of the best ways our team has grown.
Beach Cleanups
Members of the Florida Team participated in a beach cleanup this Fall. They removed trash and debris from a local beach in Ft. Lauderdale as a fun team-building day. This monthly community-led event helps keep the beautiful beaches clean.
Thank you to everyone who helped make these events happen! We are filled with gratitude.
