Creating a work culture that values healthy living and environmentally-friendly activities is important at Phillip Jeffries.
It's a great day to go on a hike! At the Phillip Jeffries corporate headquarters, the staff-led Eco Team organizes and leads hikes in the New Jersey area. From the most challenging trails to leisurely strolls, being together in nature is just one way that we live by our motto: Inspiring a more beautiful world. Often times, hikes are meant to help clean up our local trails and improve conditions, but they are always a great way to spend time with co-workers and meet new people. It's one of our most popular team events!
Fairy Trails
On a sunny Saturday in October, our mightiest crew took to the woods! Families and friends with children attended a fun-filled hike called, The Fairy Trail Hike. It's an easy 1-mile hike through the woods of South Mountain in Milburn, NJ, with the most whimsical, handmade fairy houses dotting the trail. Can't you just feel the magic?
Natural Wonders
"Everyone had fun," said hike leader Danielle Pace, PJ's Product Marketing Manager, who hiked with her 3 year-old son Owen. "It was great! It was good for the little kids, but even the older kids had fun looking at the houses."
Respecting Nature
"We taught the kids about 'leave no trace,'" Danielle continued. "This magical trail was mostly built by a woman who crafted the houses from natural materials like bark, twigs, and rocks. She is a big proponent of 'leave no trace' because she wants everyone to be able to enjoy the trail. We taught the kids that you can open the doors and touch the houses, but you can't put things in the houses or take things away."
Natural Inspiration
We were thrilled to be able to enjoy the trail this Fall and proud to leave it exactly as we found it so others can enjoy, too. And a big thank you to the Eco Team for inspiring us to explore our natural surroundings!
