HOUSE OF PJ: Tour Million Dollar Listing’s Fredrik Eklund’s Luxe Beverly Hills Home

You’ll never guess which shade of Phillip Jeffries grasscloth wallcovering this Bravo celeb features in his Los Angeles home.

HOUSE OF PJ: Tour Million Dollar Listing’s Fredrik Eklund’s Luxe Beverly Hills Home

After years of living in a modern New York City penthouse full of whites and grays, Million Dollar Listing star Fredrik Eklund and husband Derek Kaplan are redefining neutral tones in Los Angeles.

When renovating their new Beverly Hills home (during the pandemic, no less!), the couple relied on shades of pink—as with the Phillip Jeffries wallcoverings that start in the entryway and living room and extends through the primary bedroom–for its posh, calming vibe.

Eklund and artist Kaplan spoke to Architectural Digest to explain why they channeled the power of pink. “When you say color, sometimes people think of, like, maximum, very crazy. And that’s not what we wanted,” Eklund tells AD. “Everything is soft.”

The couple, who share 4-year-old twins Freddy and Mila, tapped Eklund’s longtime interior design partner Paris Forino to achieve their aesthetic, which is first displayed in the foyer. The team chose the stunning Phillip Jeffries Soho Hemp in Blush Fusion for the entry to the home. Two to three colors of hand-woven authentic hemp are laminated onto colored paper backing to create the natural textured, luxurious wallcovering.

Not just for first impressions, the woven wallcovering carries through to the living room. Here, it beautifully showcases the couple’s playful pops of color on the bookshelves and furniture. “It’s light and it’s blush and it’s happy,” Forino tells AD.

And for any critics who think the tone is less than ideal for two men? “Pink, by the way, was [a] masculine color in the ‘20s and ‘30s,” Eklund says. “Now I’m reclaiming it!”

We’d say: Mission accomplished.
