The Story of Metallic Leaf
For more than 100 years, a family-owned mill in Japan has practiced the ancient art of leafing using hashi - or chopsticks - to create works of art. Once leafed, the panels are hand rubbed and sealed with a resin finish to ensure the wallcovering withstands the test of time. All our styles are wipeable and resistant to rusting and oxidizing. We ensure our wallcovering is as durable and flexible as it is beautiful. Using techniques passed from generation to generation, artisans carefully prepare and cure the grounds to become the perfect palette for leafing so you can enjoy it for years to come.
Patina Metals
Another luxurious pattern is Patina Metals. Handcrafted by artisans, the rich, reflective surface of the metallic leaf is artistically distressed. Then, with care and an eye for detail, special tools, coatings, and texturizing techniques are meticulously applied to create a unique texture with timeless elegance and enduring beauty.
The Art of Handcrafted
Due to the handcrafted nature of the material, every panel is unique to you. During installation, designers may choose the sequence of panels to create a one-of-a-kind look. Our Metallic Ombré has a gorgeous motif that ebbs and flows which allows the pattern to be customized to a space like Virginia-based design firm, 2 Navy Lane Interiors created for this bedroom.
